Invited by the FRAC Languedoc-Roussillon to participate
to the exhibition event "La Dégelée Rabelais",
I propose a monumental Strombus Gigas. This one remind us both an
ear (one by which Gargamelle give birth to Gargantua), the discovery
of new worlds (Rabelais belonging to the Renaissance aera), and
female genitals, playing on the Rabelaisian suggestiveness and referring
to the mother and the status of women at that time. As Gargantuan
style I exaggerate the form and bring out of the shell rumbling
sounds. It becomes half human, half-mineral, fantastic species from
the sea.
